About us
De la Motte-Musikstiftung (De la Motte music foundation) is a foundation with legal capacity under civil law and was founded in 2012.
The purpose of the foundation is to promote new music and sound art, new ways of thinking about music, and music education projects devoted to new music. The founders, Diether de la Motte (1928–2010) and Helga de la Motte-Haber (*1938), have contributed as composer respectively musicologist to contemporary music and interdisciplinary art. The foundation supports artistic and academic projects with a similar interest as well as performances of Diether de la Motte’s compositions.
The Board of Trustees is currently comprised of the following individuals:
Dr. Werner Grünzweig (chair), Arno Franke (vice-chair), Leonard Scheuch, Dr. Julia Schröder.
Honorary chair is Professor Dr. Helga de la Motte-Haber.
The Board of Trustees convenes before end of June of each calendar year. Grant applications can be handed in electronically until the end of February.
